When should I book my session?
It really is down to your personal choice. Some families like to capture the early baby days around 4-6 weeks when they are feeling recovered from the birth and baby is still brand new in appearance, others prefer to wait until around 8 weeks when the smiles start to flood in. After that, the most popular stages are sitting up around 4 months onwards (supported or otherwise) and very often around the time of baby’s first birthday.
How long will my photo shoot take?
We are baby led and your baby’s care is our No.1 priority. Safety and comfort is prioritised in order to create the right conditions for the photoshoot. Some babies will arrive super sleepy and be a little grumpy on waking so we have to allow time for all scenarios. Allow an hour for your session if you are coming for one of our weekday offer sessions, and up to two hours if you’ve arranged for a family session when a sibling is to be included.
Where will my session take place?
Your photoshoot will take place at our cosy studio here in the rural Northamptonshire village of Brixworth. We have off street parking, a comfortable seating area for you to relax plus copious amounts of tea, coffee, water and biscuits! Relax and let us take care of you and your baby.
What should I bring?
Bring what you would normally pack in your nappy bag and your baby’s favourite soft toy which we might use to help them settle in. Make sure you have plenty of milk for baby as well, sometimes it takes an extra feed or two for them to settle into the studio.
I don’t know when my baby sleeps so how do I book?
We’ll pencil you in a date with a provisional time and ask that you let us know if you think you’ll need flexibility with this, so we can anticipate this in advance when scheduling our diary.
How much do sessions cost?
We simply require a £50 deposit to book your date which is credited towards your order. We don’t charge shoot fees so booking a photoshoot with us is both risk and stress free, we’re simply 100% sure you’ll love your photographs (or we’ll refund your deposit).
Do you only photograph in black and white?
We always capture your images in colour then will convert the majority of your portraits to black and white. Most of our clients love the timeless simplicity of monochrome however we can supply colour portraits if requested.
